A forward-thinking leader, Mark was an early adopter of design-build delivery, public-private partnerships (P3), and alternative dispute resolution strategies—pioneering approaches that are now industry standards. Widely respected for his industry insight and integrity, he was appointed by Governors Schwarzenegger and Brown to serve on the California Contractors State License Board, where he helped shape policy and uphold professional standards statewide.
After nearly 50 years in commercial construction and real estate—including leading two national firms, helping take one public, and scaling it to $3.5 billion—he retired in 2024. But stepping away from business didn’t mean setting aside his calling. Mark felt led to share his experience, strength, and hope with other leaders navigating the pressures, isolation, and complexity of executive life.
Today, Mark serves as a Convene Chair, coming alongside Christian CEOs and business owners who desire to build not only successful companies, but meaningful lives. His mission is to walk with them—personally, professionally, and spiritually—offering insight, encouragement, and faith as they pursue their God-given potential and purpose.
