Before chairing a Nashville Convene CEO Team, Michael helped Asurion, the leading provider of technology protection services, and Des-Case, a growing manufacturing company, each more than quadruple in revenue (Asurion was over $1 billion when he left) over a 5 year time frame. In short, Michael loves to see people and businesses grow.
Admittedly, he’s a bit of a strange combination of left and right brain thinking, with degrees in business and engineering. His blend of creative and analytical skills enables him to assess complicated, multi-disciplinary issues, and help create the right path to success. As a marketing and sales executive, he designed and implemented complex corporate strategies, and led teams of all sizes in large and small organizations.
Now, through Upstairs Consulting, he’s focused on helping even more companies learn how to grow through executive coaching and Convene. He’s learned to play to his strengths, and help others do the same.
Michael earned an MBA from The University of Michigan, and a electrical engineering degree from Kettering University. Michael and his wife have four children, two daughters-in-law, and one grandchild. His family has also developed a passion for Haiti. He feels fortunate to have had great mentors along the way, and hopes to pass along a bit of what he’s learned to others to help them in their journey.
